Mr. Rakesh Himatsingka is a Mechanical Engineer from BITS Pilani, India. Since 1975, Mr Himatsingka has been an integral part of the growing Carbon business in India and is Chairman-Managing Director of India Carbon Limited, one of India’s leading producers of Calcined Petroleum Coke. Mr. Himatsingka started as a Development Engineer and Carbon Technologist with Morganite Electrical Carbon Limited (MECL), UK from 1975-77 after which he took over the management of Assam Carbon Products Limited (ACPL) and was instrumental in a JV and technology transfer between MECL and ACPL. From 1992-2003, he was also inter alia Director of MECL, UK. Mr Himatsingka is a Chartered Member of the “Institution of Engineers” and President of the Indian Association of Productivity, Quality and Reliability. He also presided as National President of the Confederation of Export Units and is currently a Board of Governor of the Institute of Modern Management furthering Indian business in the global arena. Apart from him corporate role, he is Secretary General of the National Diabetic Association, India and is closely associated with several charitable organisations suchas Ramkrishna Vivekanand Mission, Manav Kalyan Trust, Raghumull Trust, In dia Carbon Charitable Trust etc. promoting education and social well being across multiple sectors. Mr. Himatsingka is also the Chairman and Managing Director of India Carbon Limited. He had also been, inter alia, director of Morganite Electrical Carbon Ltd, Swansea, U K, from 1992 to 2003.
